Wriflections 101: Does your handwriting really change?

“Nithi you will be amazed my handwriting keeps changing!” This is has been the most common statement I have heard from people who interact with me on this subject. So today I thought to bust this myth. When we discuss traits they’re divided in two categories fixed and unfixed. Let me explain how these traits work with the example of comparing attitude vs aptitude.

Attitude vs Aptitude

Our subconscious thoughts are the foundation of our handwriting. Our day to day activities, observations , expressions , feelings that we experience in an activity/ moment. This keeps modulating depending how we deal situations. This ultimately forms what we call attitude. And thus, it’s an unfixed trait.

Aptitude on the other hand is derived from the genetic intelligence we are blessed with, the capabilities. It is the default system of our human self and thus, it is static, it won’t change . It is this potential of acquiring new skills that makes us unique from each other.

Traits in a Handwriting

The fixed traits like aptitude, remain constant in a handwriting. For example if an individual has the potential to grasp skills in a particular genre very well , that will be permanent. These potentials can be known to the individual. Many a times , when I do analysis , I have noticed, that my clients have been unaware of some of their potentials. And why this happens is best understood from the Johari Window concept which states that many of our truest potentials are unknown to us and known or unknown to people.

Attitude , on the other hand, will keep modulating based on what we feel about an activity/ task or situation. And thus, you may notice changes in your handwriting samples.

Aspects of Handwriting that change frequently

Some of the aspects in the handwriting that change are:-

• the slants of the handwriting (left, right and straight),

• the space between letters and words,

• the horizontal spacing between lines,

• the alignment of the paragraphs and,

• the alignment of the baseline of a sentence.

When to consult a graphologist?

In case you have noticed drastic changes in any of the following traits then , I suggest you consult a graphologist:-

• in the slants in your handwriting especially extreme left or right, or a mixture of both.

• haphazard spacings, especially extreme overlapping of letters both horizontally and vertically.

• frequently changing baselines.

So these are few tips on why your handwriting changes and if it is appearing to change frequently, what one should do ! Hope this article helps you in resolving your handwriting challenges!

Disclaimer: It is advised not to self assess the traits discussed in this article. These have been discussed in isolation and don’t give out the complete personality. It is advised to consult a certified graphologist in case of noticing the ambiguities mentioned. The views expressed are based purely on the author’s experiences.

Wriflections 101: Shape of letters

There is so much that the mere shape of your letters can reveal! Does this intrigue you? Well read on for more surprises.

When we talk of different shapes and sizes of handwritings it is explained further in this article

Small sized writing. The average size of a handwriting can be understood as one fitting between the top and bottom line of one row in a singled line notebook. Small sized writing are people who are focused on their goals but not a larger picture of things. They’re detail oriented and often experts in their own fields.

Large letters. These people are eccentric and contribute to society both through activities and financial contributions but this is focused with the purpose of being relevant in the society.

Very tiny letters. These people are humbled souls and their strength is their humility. But in truth they’re the people silently contributing to development of a society or nation building.

Round letters. These people are organised and cleanliness conscious. These people create very organised environments in both work and personal life.

Illegible overlapping letters. These people have stacked up to many things at once and this is the reason that they are often confused and decision making is difficult.

So which kind of a writer are you?

Tell me in the comments section.

Disclaimer no trait in isolation can be a deciding factor for an individual’s personality. Please don’t apply the knowledge sharing beyond self application as that needs deeper graphological assistance.

Murphy’s Laws for Fountain Pen Lovers (Sunday Special with Vishal Singhi )

Warning : Strictly Humour Intended.

If there was a set of Murphy’s law for fountain pen users I think they would be

1. Just when I think I have got a good discount on a pen, someone shares a better deal. #for me who like to look for deals

2. The only pens I decided to give a pass many years ago are the ones most sought after today.

3. Just when I feel I have all blue inks in the world, there comes a new launch. #when it’s just not enough

4. The more expensive the pen, higher the probability of it falling nib down. #so true and painful

5. The choice of your grail is inversely proportional to size of your wallet.

6. “This one is my last purchase” somehow always turns into second last; and it goes on.

7. The ink will run out the day you will carry only one fountain pen

8. The more you like a pen and more you want it sooner, the longer the pen mail takes to reach you. #poor courier service – why does it happen to me always 😉

9. The pen for sale message on social media (for the pen you badly want) will come only when you are away from your phone for 15 mins.

10. The pen you want the most is the one that somebody just bought the last one.

11. Just when you give up bidding on eBay, the next bid is the winning bid. #i gave up on ebay

12. If you have money, you will not find the pen you are looking for and vice versa. #works every time

13. The speed at which the pen wants to come to you is inversely proportional to the how much you want it to come to you.

14. When a good pen comes, it’s always the wrong time of the month.

15. Just when you feel your particular model collection is complete, the brand will launch two new colours

#shall I blame lamy and twisbi for this?

16. Just when you realise you have majority pens with M nib, you start enjoying BB nibs.

17. Every time I have bargained , I lost the pen to someone else. And every time I didn’t, I overpaid.

18. 90% of the people with beautiful pens have bad handwriting.

#no offence just little humour

19. The more carefully I pack my inks for vacation, the higher the chances of spilling or breakage in transit.

20. The usage of the pen is inversely proportional to its price.

#did I just say too much

Note: This is just for some light humour and fun, no offence to anyone meant
